FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

What size bicycles can I use? For the adult towing bike you need a minimum wheel diameter of 24” up to 29”. For the towed child bike a minimum wheel diameter of 12” up to maximum of 20” ALSO there is a total maximum combined weight of child bicycle and child of 42kg.

Does your adult towing bike have a quick release rear wheel? (It does not need a spanner to remove the rear wheel)
If yes you most likely have everything you need for the towing bike is included with the FollowMe.
If no, does your adult towing bike have axle nuts to secure the rear wheel? If yes you most likely will need to purchase a set of “Adaptor for Towing Bikes with Solid Rear Axles” sold separately, 90% of bikes with this type of rear axle the adapter size needed are “3/8 x 26G”, please consult your bicycle specifications or seek advice from a bicycle mechanic to confirm size.
Or if no to both quick release or standard solid axle (axle nuts) your bike may a have a Thru Axle more commonly used on mid to high end mountain bikes, if this is the case you will need to purchase “12mm Axle adaptor” sold separately.

Does the child bike you intend to tow have axle nuts to secure the front wheel?
If yes you most likely have everything you need for this child bike is included with the FollowMe.
If no, does the child bike have a quick release front wheel? If yes you will need to purchase “Hub Adaptor for child bike with Q / R front wheel” sold separately.
If no to both front axle nuts or front quick release, does your child bike have Allen key bolts to secure the front wheel? If yes you most likely will need to purchase a set of “Child's Bike Front Axle Nuts Adaptors(Size M6)”

Can I tow a child using training wheels? no, these must either be removed prior to towing OR many child bikes you can slightly loosen the axle nuts and spin the training wheels straight upwards so they can no longer contact the ground then re-tighten the axle nuts. Reason, the towed child bike MUST be able to lean slightly when cornering with adult towing bicycle.

Can I tow with my electric bicycle? Yes in most cases IF your electric bicycle is powered through the rear wheel/hub please check if you rear axle has a wire/cord/cable going in through one side of the axle? If yes you will need to purchase the “Adaptor for Hub Gear Click Box/OR Some rear Electric” if your electric bicycle has a quick release rear wheel you shouldn’t need extra adaptors, If your electric bicycle has axle nuts on the rear wheel (and no cables/wires going in through the axle) you will need to purchase “Adaptor for Towing Bikes with Solid Rear Axles”.

Does your adult towing bicycle have internal rear hub gears? If yes, please check if you rear axle has a very small chain/wire/cord/cable going in through one side of the rear axle? If yes you will need to purchase the “Adaptor for Hub Gear Click Box/OR Some rear Electric” sold on this site.
